Salmon Sperm DNA & Chanel Skin Boosters
Come with me to get South Korea's "glass skin" it girl treatments
Last week I got two of the top skin treatments out of South Korea and I’m here to tell you everything. First off, let me start off by saying it’s only been a week and I still have two teeny-tiny little bruises under my eyes but thus far I am LOVING my results.
My sister’s a nurse that I have basically bullied into aesthetics (jk jk… sort of) and she needed a model to practice on last weekend, so I happily volunteered as tribute. I honestly wasn’t sure what I was going to get, I was blindly down for the cause, but I’m happy to report I walked away getting not one, but two, of the top skin boosters in South Korea. Skin boosters are injectables that improve skin texture, elasticity, hydration and overall appearance.
First up. I was microneedled with the “Chanel” skin booster, formally known as NCTF 135HA. This is like the holy grail of skin boosters because it’s packed with a sh-t ton of ingredients. Here, I’ll show you:
It was dubbed the “chanel” due to fact that it’s a luxury treatment with incredible results. Those results include:
Improved skin texture and elasticity .
Reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles .
Enhanced hydration .
Stimulation of collagen and elastin production .
Anti-inflammatory effects .
May help with hyperpigmentation .
In other words, it revitalizes your skin. You know what else revitalizes skin? Microneedling! So imgine combining the two…
A QUICK 411 ON MICRONEEDLING…
For those that don’t know, microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that helps stimulate collagen production by creating micro wounds in your skin. Think of it this way, when you get a cut on your arm, you get a scab and then new skin forms under it and eventually it’s like you were never cut at all. Your body wants to heal itself so when it’s injured it goes into a process of healing that triggers the production of new collagen to build and remodel the damaged tissue. The same thing happens with microneedling. Your body senses all of these microscopic punctures in your skin and it goes into healing mode, and as a result it produces more collagen and elastin to heal these micro wounds. What does that mean for the person who gets microneedled? They are left with improved skin tone, texture, and glow, as well as a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.
Going back to the cut on your arm example. Have you ever noticed that when you get a scab the skin around it is a little tighter? That’s also what happens with these microwounds. That’s why the skin on your face gets a little tighter and firmer post microneedling.
Now, add in the Chanel skin booster and it’s a double whammy. In addition to all of those micro wounds, the needles are also pushing the skin booster deeper into the upper dermis so you get twice the benefits.
I’ve been microneedled a million times so I knew what to expect. It’s not the most comfortable expereince but it’s certainly not the most painful either. Plus, I was fully numbed.
After microneedling I was pretty red with some light bleeding (which is totally normal). Next up: Biorevitalization!! PS if you have trypophobia the rest of this substack is NOT for you… look away!
For everyone else…
The rest of the NCTF 135HA was injected into my face like this:
This is a technique called mesotherapy.
QUICK 411 ON MESOTHERAPY
Mesotherapy, commonly known as “biorejuvenation” or “biorevitalization”, is a technique that’s used to rejuvenate the skin by injecting a small amount of product into the top layers of the skin. The injections create micro-channels in the skin, allowing for the absorption of the skin boosters, which then stimulate collagen and elastin production, improve circulation, and promote overall skin health.
Since I was microneedled I do think some of the numbing wore off. Either that or the numbing didn’t go deep enough because I felt almost every little injection into my skin. Again, it was tolerable BUT I have also been told I’m a savage… So if it were someone else I’d maybe recommend doing one treatment at a time and not microneedling and mesotherapy.
I should see full results in two weeks and the treatment should stimulate new collagen production for about three to four months. We only did the sides of my cheeks, leaving my under eyes untouched which is where salmon sperm DNA comes into play.
FOR OUR LAST STEP…
To round out the day, I had my under eyes injected (in the same way she did my cheeks) but with a different product. Instead of the Chanel booster we used Rejuran Eye which is a polynucleotide derrived from salmon sperm DNA. It is alllllll the rage in South Korea. I first got Rejuran when I was in Seoul in Decemeber and I loved my results so I was thrilled to be able to do it again.
I will keep it 100% real with you, having a needle inject ANYTHING that close to my eyeball made me sweat profusely. That said, pain wise it was pretty easy. I didn’t really feel many of the needle pricks and the ones I felt weren’t bad.
It’s worth noting that my eye lids were not numb but I was still able to handle those injections. It’s possible that I might not be the most relaiable person in terms of pain tolerance but it also looks way worse than it feels. Plus, the results are pretty great. I pulled some before/afters from the internet for you:
You might be wondering why in the world anyone would inject Rejuran under their eyes and it’s because salmon sperm DNA and human DNA are very similar so there tends to be minimal side affects and maximum results. Polynucleotides trigger your body to go into super duper healing mode which again helps with collagen and elastin production (which is the name of the game if you haven’t noticed) as well as improving skin health. This translates into brighter, tighter, younger looking skin.
It’s worth noting that Rejuran Eye is not a filler, so it won’t address volume loss. It’s also worth noting that Chanel and Rejuran both improve the skin in very similar ways, but the treatment I received is specifically designed to treat the under eyes.
This is me immediately after using the Tezza photo app with a film filter:
This is me two days out:
And this is me one week out:
All of those are unfiltered (minus the Tezza one which is why I mentioned it). I feel like the Chanel booster really managed to tackle the melasma on my face which shocked me… it makes me want to try it on my forehead, which is where my Melasa is currenly the worst. My under eyes currenly look like they are made from baby skin but between the copper peptides and the Rejuran I feel like they have been FULLY rejuvenated.
10/10 will be doing all of this again.
As always, if you have any questions or something in the skin/wellness space that you would like to learn more about, drop me a comment!
